We are excited to share the latest enhancements deployed to Invent Medical! This update introduces centralized date and time formatting controls, overpayment refund capabilities, interactive ID card reading controls, patient insurance policy cards, enhanced schedule performance, and multi-document upload support.

🕒 Unified Date & Time Formats​

  • Centralized System Formats:
    • Added a dedicated Date and Time settings tab allowing accounts to configure platform-wide display preferences:
      • Date Format Options: Day/Month/Year with slashes (31/01/2026), Month-first (01/31/2026), Year-first (2026-01-31), dotted format (31.01.2026), or abbreviated text (31 Jan 2026 / 31-Jan-2026). Bahrain accounts default to 31/01/2026.
      • Time Format Options: 12-hour (2:05 PM) or 24-hour (14:05).
      • Weekday Display Options: Full name (Tuesday), short (Tue), or hidden.
    • Selected date and time formats apply uniformly across all application interfaces, generated PDF printouts, reports, and data exports.

💳 Billing & Overpayment Refunds​

  • Patient Overpayment Refunds:
    • Introduced direct refund functionality for remaining patient balances via cash, BenefitPay, bank transfer, or other outgoing payment methods.
    • Refunds are settled directly against original payments, returning patient credit balances and aging reports to zero while maintaining separate audit trails and payment permissions.
  • Billing Layout Refinements:
    • Standardized the transaction date as the primary first column across all billing tables.
    • Ensured fully redeemed packages can be cancelled cleanly with accurate status updates.

📑 Insurance & Policy Management​

  • Policy Card Layout & Priority:
    • Redesigned patient insurance policies as visual cards ordered by coverage priority (the first active card acts as primary coverage for claims and procedures).
    • Cards prominently display validity status (Valid, Expired, Pending, or Archived) with quick options to link family policies, archive, or delete.
  • Advanced Benefit Rules:
    • Added support for excluding specific procedures or whole coverage categories directly within benefit rules.
    • Introduced pregnancy-based restriction rules (Only when pregnant or Only when not pregnant) applicable to female patient profiles.
    • Added a Confirm & Add Another action for rapidly adding policy benefit lines.
  • Deductible Distribution & Claim Controls:
    • Per-claim deductibles now automatically spread across claim lines chronologically (oldest line first) without duplicating or truncating charges.
    • Claim lines preserve independent statuses, and claims filed against archived policies are safely refused with clear user notifications.

📅 Schedule & Appointment Access​

  • High-Performance Calendar Syncing:
    • Optimized calendar updates on high-density days by fetching only modified appointments rather than triggering full-day reloads across active clinic screens.
  • Room-Based Access Control:
    • Enforced appointment room visibility rules across appointment lists, patient profile tabs, activity timelines, dashboard widgets, and the mobile application.
    • Users can only view, edit, or book appointments in rooms assigned to their configured appointment views (unassigned rooms and roomless appointments remain visible to branch users).
  • Calendar Navigation & Visual Features:
    • Added a Show in Calendar action from appointment lists and entry forms to instantly navigate to, highlight, and edit appointments within the main calendar view.
    • Introduced a Color by Follow-Up Status toggle to dynamically shade appointments based on follow-up statuses.
    • Added Cancelled and No Show appointment rescheduling workflows when using the Find Openings tool.

👤 Patient Profiles & ID Card Integration​

  • Selective ID Card Import:
    • Enhanced smart card reader integration with an interactive comparison window. Differences between card data and the patient profile (including photos) are listed side by side, allowing users to select specific fields to apply or leave unchanged.
  • Mandatory Patient Fields:
    • Added configurable profile settings to mandate phone number, mobile number, or CPR national ID upon patient creation (family members without phone numbers automatically inherit the primary member's contact details).
  • Expanded Import Capacity:
    • Upgraded patient import tools to process up to 2,000 records per file with improved text, birth date, national ID, and mobile number validation.

🩺 Encounters, Prescriptions & Forms​

  • Collaborative Addenda & Templates:
    • Enabled non-authoring users to attach addenda to unsigned encounters.
    • Allowed encounter templates to designate default event types for newly created encounters.
  • Prescription Decision Support Polish:
    • Custom drug contraindications and condition conflicts now validate accurately against patient custom diagnostic profiles.

📸 Documents & Lab​

  • Multi-Document Upload & Printing:
    • Enabled multi-file bulk uploads directly into patient document folders.
    • Added direct printing support for images and PDF files straight from the document previewer.

📊 Reports & Analytics​

  • Quick Filters & Visual Chips:
    • Standardized default report filters and groupings as removable visual chips.
    • Added invoice numbers to the Daily Procedures and Production Income reports.
    • Expanded the Appointments report to display complete patient demographics (gender, marital status, nationality, phone numbers, and insurance provider).
    • Accelerated loading performance for Provider Collections, Price List, Patient Invoice Analysis, and Appointments reports.

    • Added support for sending payment requests directly via WhatsApp.
