Release Notes - 7ᵗʰ of September 2026

We are excited to share the latest enhancements deployed to Invent Medical! This update introduces granular payment write-off handling, partial credit allocations, IP-based network security, enhanced treatment plan printing, daily calendar notes on the schedule, and extensive multi-branch optimizations.

💳 Billing & Payments​

  • Payment Write-Offs & Financial Tracking:
    • Added complete visibility for payment write-offs across all payment screens. When a payment does not cover an invoice balance, the registration screen prompts to either keep the invoice open or write off the difference to a specified account with a custom label.
    • Payment forms and tables explicitly display write-off statuses and amounts.
    • Invoice payment summaries and PDF exports now distinctly separate actual money received, write-off amounts, and total settled figures to eliminate ambiguity on cleared balances.
  • Partial Credit Allocation & Patient Responsibility:
    • Outstanding credits and payments can now be allocated to invoices partially rather than requiring the full amount at once.
    • Insurance invoices automatically calculate remaining patient balances. Payment registration defaults to the patient responsibility portion and issues a warning if exceeded.
  • Invoicing Flexibility & Controls:
    • Invoice names, invoice dates, and assigned companies can now be updated post-creation across both general invoices and package invoices.
    • Payments attached to claim payments are now locked against accidental deletion, and editing dates for draft payments has been restored.
    • Currency inputs now support precise decimal entry beyond 2 decimal places, defaulting to 3 decimals when a currency specification is omitted.
    • Group reconciliation now seamlessly operates across distinct companies sharing a common root parent company.

🛡️ Network Security & Access Control​

  • IP Restriction Profiles:
    • System administrators can now restrict access to trusted clinic networks using CIDR address ranges (e.g., 81.10.20.0/24).
    • Multiple profiles can be assigned per user to support access across authorized locations (e.g., primary clinic and owner office). Unrestricted users without assigned profiles experience no changes.
    • IP rules are continuously enforced upon initial sign-in and across every subsequent request, instantly terminating active sessions if an address becomes unauthorized.
    • Built-in validation warns when entering dynamic IP ranges to prevent inadvertent lockouts from ISP address shifts.

📄 Treatment Plans & Printing​

  • Financial & Visual Enhancements:
    • Printed treatment plans now include detailed financial breakdowns with dedicated Insurance Estimate and Patient Portion columns, priority sub-totals, and grand totals.
    • Priority color indicators are now retained on printouts to match the on-screen visual interface.
    • Added flexible print options to dynamically toggle financial columns and grand totals on generated printouts.

📅 Schedule & Workflow Tools​

  • Calendar Notes Panel:
    • Integrated a new Calendar Notes panel directly into the daily and weekly schedule views to display designated activity types (defaulting to "Appointment Note").
    • Activity types can be configured via appointment settings; legacy appointment notes are automatically migrated to display in this panel.
  • Patient Selection & UI Updates:
    • Updated the user navigation menu to align seamlessly with Invent ERP styling.
    • Added patient external reference columns to the patient selection modal.
    • Long placeholders within note templates now wrap gracefully within the editor view.
    • Scoped procedure templates directly to the currently active company.

📑 Insurance & Claims Management​

  • Advanced Filtering & Display:
    • Claims and claim payment lines can now be filtered directly by policy number and patient CPR.
    • Claim details now prominently feature key patient attributes, including name, patient ID, and national identification number.
    • Insurance details are clean-stripped from standalone credit notes, and claim invoice printing has been stabilized.

📊 Reports & Performance​

  • Fast Package Reporting: Completely reworked the Package Report architecture to significantly decrease load times.
  • Tracking: Added a Created By tracking column across both the Appointments and Invoices reports.

🛠️ General Fixes & Platform Polish​

  • Corrected teeth chart annotation persistence when toggling between active patient records.
  • Fixed timeline and communication log errors caused by empty message bodies.
  • Restored access control permissions for Audit Logs, Balance Sheets, and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Resolved PDF export rendering issues, removing double time zone output and missing background images.
  • Ensured archived products are fully hidden from active price list items.
  • Cleaned encounter selection elements to prevent blank selection options or errors.
  • Updated medical pricing architecture to user-based licensing.
